Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Her first Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her performance in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors on stage and screen for her entire career. Ashford will be next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford's current project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. It will also be available on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place in March 2023 when he stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which brought you Hamilton. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. She was in two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Also, she has performed on Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original part in the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. Ashford has been born in Denver and now lives between Los Angeles and New York.
